Samuel D. Cowin

With his sharp intellect and resourceful approach, Samuel Cowin is an astute member of the Lewis-Burke Associates LLC team.  His responsibilities focus primarily on issues pertaining to the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, The National Aeronautics and Space Administration, and physical sciences. Mr. Cowin diligently monitors relevant congressional hearings and federal agency meetings, tracking developments and identifying prospective funding opportunities for Lewis-Burke clients.

Mr. Cowin joined Lewis-Burke in 2008 with policy experience in both the public and private sectors.  Working in the legislative offices of Congressman Timothy Johnson and Illinois State Senator Michael Frerichs, he gained first hand knowledge of the legislative process.  He broadened his perspective and government relations skills working in the consulting firms of former Secretary of Defense William Cohen and former Congressmen Tom Downey and Ray McGrath.

Mr. Cowin graduated summa cum laude from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and a minor in Latino studies. He is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.
