Julie A. Jolly built her career in higher education and health policy through years of experience on Capitol Hill and as a Higher Education advocate. She offers Lewis-Burke clients her expertise and insight in health care, higher education and small businesses policy. Before joining Lewis Burke, Ms. Jolly served as a Health Policy Advisor and Legislative Assistant to Senator Kit Bond where she handled several important pieces of legislation including the health care reform bill, the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) reauthorization and Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act. She worked closely with hospitals on a wide variety of issues and assisted in efforts to secure funding for Children’s Hospital Graduate Medical Education and promote pediatric research. In addition, Ms. Jolly was responsible for education policy for K-12 such as No Child Left Behind Reauthorization and higher education legislation including student aid issues. She collaborated with public and private universities as well as local, state and national associations. She also worked closely with the Small Businesses Committee on several issues including the reauthorization of the Small Business Innovation Research Program (SBIR). Ms. Jolly also served as a Legislative Assistant on the Aging Subcommittee for the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions.
Before returning to the Senate Ms. Jolly was the Director of Federal Relations for the University of Missouri System. In that role, she also served as an executive committee member for the National Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges (now APLU) Council on Government Affairs and was active within The Association of American Universities (AAU) and the Association of American Medical Colleges.
Ms. Jolly received her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Missouri State University.
