Maggie K. Owner applies her analytical research skills to her work on behalf of Lewis-Burke clients. Ms. Owner tracks and reports relevant legislation in Congress, researches federal funding opportunities, and monitors Federal agencies’ priorities. Her current portfolio includes biomedical research and health policy with a focus on agencies within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, in particular, the National Institutes of Health. Ms. Owner also handles issues related to urban and economic development, small businesses policy, and workforce innovation.Prior to joining Lewis-Burke in 2010, Ms. Owner gained valuable advocacy experience at the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights in Washington D.C. where she tracked legislation, updated coalition members on Congressional activities and engaged in grassroots lobbying activities. Ms. Owner also completed an internship at the Nuclear Industry Association in London, UK.
Ms. Owner earned her Master of Arts degree with honors in political science from American University in Washington D.C., and her Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in political science from Elon University. Ms. Owner is a member of the Pi Sigma Alpha honor society.
