Lauren Broccoli

Lauren Broccoli works closely with clients to identify research priorities and develop comprehensive federal strategies to advance interests related to the environmental and agricultural sciences.  Leading the firm’s environmental portfolio, Lauren actively engages in a wide breadth of legislative issues ranging from the Farm Bill to coastal resilience.  She utilizes an extensive network of federal contacts to create opportunities for clients to influence federal research priorities and new initiatives, as well as providing advance intelligence on forthcoming opportunities or threats. 

Lauren previously worked as a communications aide to Rhode Island Congressman James Langevin.  She gained insight into policy development and the legislative process, while contributing to innovative communications strategies to enhance the Congressman’s policy profile and constituent interactions.  Her expertise in federal relations compliments a foundation of state and local political experience developed through her past roles on a U.S. Senate campaign and as a clerk for the Rhode Island Governor’s Executive Legal Counsel.

Issue Expertise: Appropriations, agricultural sciences and nutrition research, environmental sciences research including atmospheric, geosciences, coastal and ocean issues, natural resources, biological sciences, environmental engineering, international agricultural research and capacity building.

Additional Experience: Lauren is currently the chair of the Friends of Agricultural Research Service (ARS) Coalition, she is a member of the New York State Bar, and she currently serves as Chairwoman of the State Society of Rhode Island.

Vital Statistics: Lauren studied communications with a concentration in public relations at Boston University.  She received her Juris Doctorate from Roger Williams University Law and was admitted to the New York State Bar.  In her spare time, Lauren loves to shop.
