Lindsay Milliken

Lindsay Milliken oversees a research portfolio that covers the National Science Foundation (NSF), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).  Lindsay monitors federal legislation and opportunities with a focus on biomedical research, human spaceflight, digital manufacturing, and planetary science, among other topics.  Her previous academic and professional experience has deepened her passion to protect federally-funded research and encourage the next generation of scientists.

Issue Areas: advanced manufacturing, biomedical research, planetary science, astrophysics, high energy density physics.

Prior Experience: Prior to joining Lewis-Burke Associates, Lindsay served as a Government Relations Intern at the National Association for Biomedical Research (NABR).  In that role, she gathered data and tracked legislation relating to the use of animal models in research.  Lindsay also worked in the Department of Physics at American University, assisting physics students inside and outside the lab while promoting the value of science education.

Vital Statistics: Lindsay graduated from American University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.  She hopes to continue her education in the physical sciences.  Lindsay is a card-carrying member of the National Association of Rocketry and participates in model rocket launches as often as possible.  As an astronomy enthusiast, Lindsay trekked to South Carolina to watch the 2017 solar eclipse and is already planning her trip to the next eclipse in 2024.
