Michael Buse leverages professional and academic experiences to deliver in-depth reporting and analysis to support the diverse agendas of Lewis-Burke clients. He monitors legislative and regulatory developments across a broad spectrum of federal agencies, while tracking the ever-changing political landscape related to higher education and research.
Prior to joining Lewis-Burke, Michael assisted the Texas A&M System Federal Relations DC office. While supporting numerous aspects of the Texas A&M System’s research, including agriculture, education, transportation and disaster response, he developed an understanding of the unique policy issues impacting land-grant institutions.
Issue Areas: Transportation and infrastructure, agriculture, and elections
Additional Experience: Michael was active in several grassroots efforts during his time in college, including a state-wide student advocacy campaign to increase state level formula funding.
Vital Statistics: Born in Ohio and raised in Texas, Michael has an affinity for country music, tacos and Fightin’ Texas Aggie -or Buckeye- sports. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and a minor in Business Administration through Mays Business School. When he is not going the extra mile for Lewis-Burke’s clients, he spends his time making salsa, playing softball or watching Netflix.
